Photographer Antoine Poupel, a travelling companion of Bartabas, the founder of the equestrian theatrical extravaganza “Zingaro”, followed the troupe from its home base in Aubervilliers, France to New York, and from Moscow to Tokyo, providing us with a magnificent visual interpretation of its various shows.
From the Equestrian Opera (1991) to the company’s latest work, Battuta (2007), the photographer plunges us into the highly original and poetic universe created by the art of Zingaro, while highlighting the privileged relationship between man and horse.
