Antoine Poupel in RE-WILD 4 at Château de Rochefort

Antoine Poupel participated in RE-WILD 4, a group exhibition presented by SAOSIGN GALERIE at Château de Rochefort-en-Yvelines from 29 September to 20 December 2024.
Organized by artist and curator Berny Sauner, the exhibition explored how art can renew attention to the natural world. Its title, referring to “rewilding,” expressed an invitation to reconsider humanity’s relationship with its environment.
Poupel exhibited alongside Olivia Devos, Thibault Laget-Ro, Xavier Montoy, and Berny Sauner. Their different artistic perspectives came together around an interest in nature’s beauty, vitality, and mystery.
The château’s gallery, overlooking the forest of Rambouillet, provided a setting where the artworks could be experienced in direct connection with the surrounding landscape. The exhibition encouraged visitors to slow down and consider humanity as one part of a larger living world.
For Poupel, whose photographic practice transforms the visible through experimentation and a painterly approach to light, this theme offered a meaningful context for encountering his work.
