Musée GRATALOUP in Chevreuse

Musée GRATALOUP in Chevreuse presents Entre les Mondes — In Between Worlds, bringing together Antoine Poupel’s photography and GRATALOUP’s paintings in an exploration of light, transformation, and perception.

From the Chapel to the Gardens

The exhibition unfolds between two complementary settings. In the chapel, GRATALOUP’s paintings explore light and matter, earth and sky. In the gardens, Poupel’s photographs turn attention toward bodies, animals, landscapes, rituals, and gestures.

Through superposition and experimentation, Poupel transforms familiar subjects, inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries between human beings and the natural world.

Podcasts in French and English accompany the artworks, offering ways to explore their forms and meanings. A dedicated children’s podcast, videos, and a sound-and-light installation extend the experience.

Reviews and Press Coverage

In its 5 August 2026 review, La Gazette des Expositions highlights the poetic, mysterious character of Poupel’s photographs. Its assessment is mixed: while finding the scenography conventional, it praises the accessible podcasts and memorable concluding sound-and-light experience.

The museum also reports coverage in L’Écho Républicain, drawing further attention to this encounter between painting and photography.
